Privacy Policy

At Qonnect, your privacy is the whole point. Our app lets someone contact your vehicle without ever knowing your phone number. This page explains what information we collect, why we need it, and how we keep it safe — in plain language, not legal jargon.

1. What Information We Collect

We only collect information that is directly needed to make the app work. Here is everything we store:

Your phone number

Used to verify your identity when you sign in (via a one-time OTP). Your number is never visible to anyone who contacts you through the app.

Your vehicle details

The vehicle type, registration number, and the nickname you give it. This is what gets linked to your QR code so people can reach you.

Contact history

A log of contact requests you receive — including the reason, date, and how long a call lasted. This powers the History screen in your app.

Emergency contacts (optional)

If you choose to add emergency contacts, we store their name, phone number, and your relationship to them. These are only shown to someone who scans your QR code if you explicitly turn on that option.

Delivery address (only for sticker orders)

If you order a physical QR sticker, we collect your name, phone, and shipping address to deliver it to you. We do not store this for any other purpose.

Payment confirmation (only for sticker orders)

We store a payment reference ID to confirm your order went through. We never see or store your card number, UPI ID, or bank details — that is handled entirely by our payment provider.

Notification token

A device identifier that allows us to send you push notifications when someone contacts you or calls you through the app. It is deleted automatically when you sign out or uninstall the app.

Basic usage data

Anonymous events like when a QR code is scanned or a session starts. We use this to detect abuse and keep the platform safe — not to profile you.

We do not collect your location, your phone’s contact list, browsing activity, or anything unrelated to the features above.

2. How We Keep Your Phone Number Private

This is the core promise of Qonnect: the person who scans your QR code will never see your phone number — not before the call, not during it, and not after.

When someone scans your vehicle’s QR code, we create a temporary, anonymous session between you and them. They connect to that session, not to your number directly.

If you add emergency contacts, you can optionally allow their phone number to be visible to a scanner. This is an opt-in toggle per contact — it is off by default and entirely your choice.

3. Permissions the App Asks For

The app will ask for these permissions at the right moment. You can deny or revoke any of them from your phone’s Settings at any time:

  • Camera — to scan someone else’s vehicle QR code
  • Microphone — to speak during the anonymous voice call
  • Notifications — to receive alerts when someone contacts you
  • Bluetooth — so you can use a wireless headset during calls

4. How Long We Keep Your Data

We delete your data as soon as it is no longer needed:

  • Your account and vehicles — kept until you delete your account
  • Contact history — automatically deleted after 12 months
  • Call records — deleted after 90 days
  • Sticker orders — kept for 3 years as required for financial records
  • Notification token — removed when you sign out or uninstall the app

5. How We Protect Your Data

We take security seriously. Here is what we do to protect your information:

  • All data travelling between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS)
  • Your account data can only be accessed by you — no one else on our platform can see it
  • Sign-in tokens expire quickly so an old token cannot be reused
  • Call session tokens are one-time — they become invalid the moment a call ends

No system is completely unbreakable. If a breach ever occurs, we will notify affected users promptly and take immediate action.

6. Deleting Your Account

You are in full control. You can delete your account and all your data at any time:

From the app

Go to Settings → Delete Account. Your account and all associated data will be permanently removed.

By email

Send a message to support@xaptis.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request”, along with your registered phone number. We will delete everything within 14 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • See your data — request a copy of everything we hold about you
  • Fix your data — correct anything that is wrong, directly in the app
  • Delete your data — remove your account completely at any time
  • Take your data — ask for an export in a readable format
  • Opt out — stop receiving any promotional messages from us

8. Children

Qonnect is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you think a child has created an account, please email us at support@xaptis.com and we will delete it right away.

9. Links to Other Websites

Occasionally the app may link to external websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices — please check their policies directly.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will notify you with a push notification or an in-app message before the changes take effect. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the latest version.
